The ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) is consistently the most accurate computer model when forecasting five days out and is used by professional forecasters and meteorologists worldwide.

For decades the model output from the ECMWF was only accessible to the top weather centres, but since October 2020, it has become free and accessible to all.

On this page, you can access medium-range (15 days) and long-range (42 days) ECMWF ensemble data for a selection of towns and cities across Essex. These charts cover probability-based temperature, wind, precipitation and clouds, which provides a guide to forecasting confidence.

Ensembles are updated twice a day before 7:30 am and 7:30 pm GMT.
